Pub Kitchen to host a disco themed brunch this Sunday!

Break out your best polyester and brush up on your Saturday Night Fever dance moves, because Pub & Kitchen is bringing back disco.

This Sunday, May 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the folks at Pub & Kitchen are cheering their new brunch menu, the arrival of spring weather and the Broad Street Run by giving us one more thing to celebrate: disco brunch.
Listen to the greatest hits from the golden age of disco and enjoy disco fries, a mouth-watering mound of Pub & Kitchen’s signature fries topped with Swiss, a sunny side egg, and smoked ham cream gravy for $11. Broad Street Run participants are encouraged to run straight to Pub & Kitchen for a plate of disco fries after the 10-miler.

The brunch menu includes dishes like Brioche Pain Perdu accompanied by your choice of toffee bacon sauce and bourbon syrup or strawberries and cream, and their top contender for Philadelphia Magazine Best Of Philly Burger Bracket, the Churchill.

Joe Rogan to laugh it up in Philadelphia!

Joe Rogan, star of TV's The Man Show, will be performing his signature brand of stand-up comedy next Thursday thru Saturday, with all but one performance not sold out as of press time. The time available is the Thursday, April 14th show at 10:15 p.m. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $32 for reserved, and available here.

Lynne Koplitz comes to Philly!

 Lynne Koplitz will be performing her signature brand of stand-up comedy today thru Friday. The times available are tonight, Wednesday at 8:00 p.m., Thursday at 8:00 p.m., Friday at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, or $17 for reserved and are available here.

Mr. Cash Cab comes to Philly!

Ben Bailey, star of TV's Cash Cab, will be performing his signature brand of stand-up comedy this Thursday thru Sunday, with all but two performances not sold out as of press time. The times available are the Saturday, April 9th show at 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 10th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20, and available here.

Philadelphia Science Festival!

The inaugural citywide Philadelphia Science Festival is April 15-28, featuring more than 120 free events for Philadelphians of all ages in a unique collaboration of Philadelphia’s schools, universities, cultural institutions, scientists and engineers.

A portion of those events will center around the science of food, enabling you to explore the magic of your taste buds.

• Science Festival Beer Tapping: April 15, 9 p.m. Following the Philly vs. Boston science-themed StorySlam, don’t miss the afterparty at Kite & Key Restaurant as the first batch of the Yards special craft Science Festival Belgian Strong Ale is tapped (and nerdy name revealed). • The Artisanal Microbe: Cheese: April 20, 6:30 p.m. Try local cheeses at Di Bruno Bros. while enjoying a discussion on the role microbes play in making cheeses.
• Melting Moments of Delight: The Science of Chocolate: April 22, 6 p.m. Experience how seeds are converted into delicious chocolate while you savor free samples with cocoa scientists from Mars, Inc. and flavor experts from the Monell Center.
• From Hops to Stein: The Science of Beer: April 23, 7 p.m. Discover the science behind brewing and the ways in which our taste buds and noses process these sudsy delights with scientists from Monell Center and the brewers from Yards. While you’re here at Yards Brewery, quaff a pint of the specially-brewed Science Festival Beer.
• All Things Fermented: The Science of Beer and Cheese: April 27, 6:30 p.m. During this enlightening and delicious two-hour tasting adventure in Old City, City Food Tours co-owner Eric Matzke will introduce you to seven draughts brewed on-site at Triumph Brewing Company. You’ll also savor hearty portions of four sumptuous farmstead cheeses.
