Two long-time editors from the award-winning satirical news organization The Onion, which launched a Philadelphia edition just this spring, are coming to Drexel University this Wednesday, May 11 to share their publishing industry and humor journalism wisdom.
Chad Nackers and Joe Garden will be on campus to deliver a multimedia presentation on pop culture, politics and today’s media landscape. Chad is a senior writer who joined the Onion staff in 1997. Features editor Joe started at the Onion in 1993, and created the recurring characters Jim Anchower and Jackie Harvey. He oversees such popular features as American Voices, National News Highlights and the stat shot.
Tickets are $15; $5 for Drexel students.
Bonus for budding humorists: Drexel is giving away a pair of tickets on their Facebook page to the person who makes up the best Onion headline.
