'Philadelphia' screening next Monday at City Hall
On May 16th at 5:30 p.m., Jonathan Demme's 1993 film Philadelphia will be screened at City Hall. The film, starring Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington, is about a lawyer (Hanks) who contracts AIDS and faces discrimination. The screening is taking place to promote the Philadelphia Film Society, as well to "enliven City Hall," a city spokesman says.
